Mission Trip Testimony

In one lifetime there are many moments that define and shape a person. So many memories that we can look back upon and think fondly of or perhaps groan at the lessons that we learned. In my short lifetime of almost 19 years I can honestly say that my most defining moments of life have happened in high school. I just graduated from Indiana Academy (2015) and in the four years of my high school experience I went on a mission trip every year. These four mission trips will be forever remembered, not only because of the great experiences I had but of the people that helped me get there.
When raising money for the mission trips I had to put my faith in God and in return God blessed me with people ever so willing to donate to my mission trip fund. Out of the four mission trips I had: Barbados (2012) , Nicaragua (2013), El Salvador (2014/2015), the last three were organized by the Cicero Church. I am so grateful to the church for organizing these trips and being willing to have IA students come.
These trips have changed my life and helped to guide me in a direction that I wouldn’t have gone with out them. These trips helped me grow spiritually, physically (I still feel the blisters on my hands) mentally and culturally. I grew closer to God and the people in the church and I am so ever grateful that I got the chance to make a difference somewhere in the world!
